Expense Splitter · last updated 17 September 2026
Expense Splitter is a private application used by two people. It is not offered to the public and has no users other than the household that runs it. It runs on a personal computer and stores its data in a file on that computer.
The application requests one Google permission:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send.
Expense Splitter's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Bank transactions are retrieved through SimpleFIN, a read-only banking interface. The application cannot move money and never sees a bank password. The SimpleFIN credential is encrypted before it is stored, and transactions are held in a local database file on the same personal computer. No financial data is sent to any third party.
The emails the application sends go only to the two members of the household. Each partner's email contains their own transactions and only those expenses the other partner has explicitly chosen to share.
The application is not directed at children and collects nothing from them.
Any change to this policy will be published on this page with a new date above.
